There are a range of features that you wouldn’t expect on such a small outboard, including F-N Gear shift, water-cooling and a 1 litre fuel tank that will last you for hours.
With a big carrying handle, the engine is easily lifted on and off a tender or pontoon while the 4 tilt positions ensure that you can set the engine to your boat’s requirements.
Like all Suzuki four-strokes, the DF2.5 is extremely reliable and offers clean, economical operation that meets the strictest emission standards. Its compact design and light weight make it an excellent choice for tenders, dinghies, and small inflatables.
The DF2.5 also requires little maintenance and is easy to handle and stow.
Weighing in at 13kg this is the lightest single-cylinder four-stroke Suzuki has ever built, and the lightest you'll find among water-cooled outboards in its class—a big advantage when it comes to transporting the outboard.
With a 68cm3 displacement the DF2.5’s OHV engine delivers plenty of power for small tenders and inflatables. It features easy-to-pull recoil starting and Suzuki’s Pointless Electronic Ignition system for precise ignition timing.
The DF2.5 runs quiet and smooth, and is water-cooled for increased durability and dependability. A large capacity integrated fuel tank holds one-litre of fuel, which provides an estimated operating time of almost an hour on a full tank. And checking the oil level is easy with the oil level indicator conveniently located on the outboard’s port side.
Suzuki engineers know that the easier it is to operate the outboard, the more you can enjoy your time on the water. That’s why the DF2.5 is equipped with features like a twist-grip throttle, which makes it easy to operate from different sitting positions. It’s also designed with full-turn 360º steering, which is beneficial when manoeuvring in tight places and delivers superior thrust when reversing. Steering and throttle systems are each equipped with their own tension adjusters so you can easily make adjustments to fit individual operating needs. And the F-N shift lever is located on the starboard side of the outboard, just where you’d expect.
Removed from the boat, the DF2.5 is balanced, lightweight, and easy to manage due to its large carrying handle. The integrated handle is located on the back of the engine cowling where it also assists when you need to tilt the engine up. And four-position tilting is provided to match the outboard with individual boat and operating conditions.
The DF2.5 utilises four-stroke operation that squeezes more from every tank of fuel than a comparable two-stroke outboard. Four-stroke technology also delivers clean operation that meets forthcoming Euro 1 standards, fully complies with 2006 EPA, and has gained the DF2.5 CARB 3-Star Certification for Ultra Low Emissions by the California Air Resources Board.
This lightweight compact engine is well designed and easy to operate so you can rest easy and focus on having fun on the water!
