Suzuki’s Lean Burn Fuel Control System
Suzuki’s Lean Burn Fuel Control System predicts fuel needs according to operating conditions and allows the engine to run on a very lean air to fuel ratio.
As the first of Suzuki’s new generation four-strokes, they are a showcase of advancements and achievements – such as digital sequential electronic fuel injection, a powerful 2.59:1 final drive ratio, and a zero-maintenance self-adjusting timing chain – that Suzuki has pioneered over the last ten years.
They also feature Suzuki’s proven offset drive shaft which, used in combination with a newly designed power head, contributes to making the DF90 the smallest and lightest four-stroke outboard in its class. This compact, lightweight design also makes any of these two outboards ideal for use on a wide range of boat types.

Lean Burn control system
Suzuki’s Lean Burn Fuel Control Technology predicts fuel needs according to operating conditions, then delivers the optimum fuel/air mixture to the engine resulting in greater fuel economy.
Offset drive shaft
The Offset Drive allows us to make our outboard engines smaller by moving the outboards centre of gravity forward, improving weight distribution, power output, balance and reduces vibration.
Self-adjusting timing chain
Simple, effective and maintenance free timing chain that runs in an oil-bath so it never needs lubricating and equipped with a hydraulic tensioner so it remains properly adjusted at all times.
Suzuki keyless start system
Designed with convenience in mind this system offers simple, stress-free starting and acts as an immobiliser to help deter theft.
Tilt limit system
To protect the boat and motor from damage a user adjustable tilt limit switch prevents the outboard from tilting beyond a predetermined point.
Largest reduction gear ratio in its class
A large reduction gear ratio leads to powerful torque for quick acceleration and great top-end speed.
The Lean Burn Control System supplies the right fuel and air mixture depending on the navigation conditions.

SELF-ADJUSTING TIMING CHAIN
The timing chain runs in an oil-bath so it never needs lubricating, and is equipped with an automatic hydraulic tensioner so it remains properly adjusted at all times.
